2017 Summer Music Scholarship Contest

Midwest Music Academy, Inc.  is offering one full summer scholarship for private music lessons in the instrument of winner’s choice.  You may choose voice, guitar, piano, bass, drums, violin, any band instrument, music theory or composition.  The competition is open to all  students (including home schooled) entering 5th-12th grade in 2017.

CONTEST RULES

1.   Entrants must submit an essay of 150-500 words on the topic

       The sacrifices a musician makes ”.

2.   Essays must be typed.  Hand-written essays will not be judged.

3. The entrant’s name or identifying details (such as your school, names of family members or pets, etc)

     not appear on or within the essay. 

4Essay must be accompanied by a cover page, in the same envelope, showing: information:

        a.  Your name, address, telephone number and email address

        b.  The school you will be attending in the 2017-18 school year and the grade

you will be in

        c.  The instrument  of your choice for lessons if you should win the contest. 

You may choose voice, guitar, piano, bass, violin, viola, cello, any band instrument,

music theory or composition.

5.  Essays must be received at Midwest Music Academy by Friday, April 28th  The

 winner will be announced on Friday, May 26 th.  The winner will be notified by phone.

6. Essays become the property of Midwest Music Academy, Inc., and may be

published in whole or in part.  The winner agrees to allow the use of their name and photograph in

 connection with the scholarship by Midwest Music Academy, Inc.

7. Essays will be judged by a committee of parents of current Midwest Music Academy

 students.  Judges will not know the identity of the writers of the essays they judge.   

8. The winner will receive a full scholarship for one 30-minute private lesson

weekly from June 1st  through August 31st 2017.  

9. The scholarship is non-transferrable.  Any lesson not taken by the winner

will be forfeited.
